Sandra and Charlie

About Us

The Charlie Ramsey Research Fund was set up following the birth of our daughter - Charlie Grace Ramsey. Charlie was born with Complex Congenital Heart Defects. The condition that Charlie was born with currently has no medical cure. It is for this reason that the charity was set up, to raise money for research. In the hope that one day a cure can be found, so Charlie and other babies & children like her can survive without the need for a donor heart.

Charlie is one of up to 600 children every year, diagnosed with only half a functioning heart, sadly, some of the children do not survive the surgery offered.

The fund was set after our first fundraising event - in June 2002. In 2002 we raised £2250. In 2003 we raised £13,000 which we presented to Little Hearts Matter. In 2004 we raised a whopping £21,105. In 2005 we raised £19,100. In 2006 we raised £18,000. To date the fund has raised in excess of: £73,455.00

On May 1st 2007 we obtained Charitable Status with the Charity Commission.
